Great news for ice diver watch fans, Seiko launched a new series of Prospex Sumo as a tribute to the ice explorers. Celebrating the Japanese adventurer Naomi Uemura conquering Mt. Everest’s 50th Anniversary, Seiko create this new Prospex series to demonstrate their craftsmanship of manufacturing timekeeping instruments that can conquer extreme environments.
A total of three colors, a
Grey Dial SPB175, a
Green Dial SPB177, a
Blue Dial SPB179. This series is reserved exclusively for collectors in the United States. This Seiko Prospex Ice Diver Sumo is inspired by the many dynamic shades of glacier ice found in the world's polar extremes.
Keeping the same Sumo profile, a stainless steel case of 45mm and 12.9mm thick; using the up-to-date most reliable caliber 6R35 automatic movement with 70 hours power reserve, along with the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The built details lied onto the various color waffle texture dial. Unlike most familiar sunburst dial, Seiko uses the edges and angles crafted onto the waffle dial to deliver a glamorous reflective result, subtle yet posh.
