Arita porcelain was born in 1616 as Japan's first porcelain. Since then, the craftsmanship of Arita porcelain has been handed down for 400 years, and its unique artistry has fascinated many people. A limited-quantity model that uses such historic Arita porcelain for the dial is now available. Seiko has long been promoting and incorporating traditional Japanese craftsmanship and technique into watchmaking, thus making the Presage line a unique and loveable collection.
This Limited Edition SPB267J1 focuses on the various colours of Arita porcelain and is equipped with a special dial that reproduces the tasteful "light lapis lazuli". Ruri-zome is used for the "Dyed Sagibun Three-legged Plate" that represents Arita porcelain, and the light and soft colours and the shades of colour woven by the three-dimensional effect beautifully colour the wearer's wrist. The Arita porcelain dial is produced under the supervision of Mr. Hiroyuki Hashiguchi, a potter who belongs to the long-established store "Shin Kiln" which has been in business in Japan for over 190 years.
