The Seiko Diver’s 55th Anniversary Trilogy of Iconic Reissues

Introduced in celebration of the 55th anniversary of Seiko’s and Japan’s first diver’s watch, the SLA039 is a re-creation of the Seiko 1968 diver’s watch, one of the most important landmarks in Seiko’s diver’s watchmaking history. The subtle gradation of the blue-grey dial captures the beauty of the sea and how light gradually fades as one dives deeper into the dark, mysterious world of the ocean.

This creation is also the first diver’s watch to be introduced with a new grade of stainless steel that allows users a new supreme level of scratch and corrosion resistance. To meet the requirements of use under the harsh environment of saturation diving, the watch’s structure is robust and water-resistant and is equipped with the high beat 8L55 movement assembled expressly for diver’s watches in the Shizukuishi watch studio.

On April 14th, 2021, the Seiko Prospex SLA039 was awarded the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021. This is a Japanese Diver's watch made for achieving the maximum expertise and craftsmanship, proving the excellence of the Brand's watchmaking heritage to the world once again.
