Citizen Fugu
In 1959, Citizen started making dive watches, with the first Japanese made water-resistant mechanical watch known as “Parawater”. Since then the series is known as the "Fugu", the Pufferfish in Japanese. The NY004 was first released in 1993 and famously adapted by the Italian Navy’s Special Forces unit.
The bezel has alternating smooth and serrated edges provide a better grip for diver underwater; the bezel gives the watch its signature look and gave the name - Fugu. The Fugu's unique crown position at 8 o’clock has been preserved in all the Fugu series.
