SBDX014 has a similar appearance that tribute to the legendary Golden Tuna 7549-7009 which has a golden color nitride plated titanium case and a titanium powder-coated shroud prevents scratches.
Seiko's proprietary high-intensity silicon is used for the straps, it is sized in order to be worn over wetsuits for serious professional divers. Meaning that it is a deliberate technical comfortable choice for those who want to move away from the boring stainless steel bracelets.
Both SBDX014 & SBDX016 uses the Calibre 8L35. 8L35 is a modern Seiko designed movement is developed, manufactured, and assembled fully in-house, at the Shizuku-ishi Watch Studio. It is a reliable and efficient movement that proved its qualities in many Seiko professional diver models. Detailed specification at 28.800vph / 4Hz, 26 jewels, approximately 50 hours of power reserve, and an average +15 / -10 seconds per day.
