Casio has recently announced the release of their newest watch model, the G-Shock MR-G Frogman MRG-BF1000R-1A, set to be launched in April 2023. This exciting timepiece is a fusion of the classic Frogman diving features and the premium titanium construction and luxury design of the MR-G line.
While the MRG-BF1000R-1A shares some design similarities with the analog GWF-A1000 Frogman, such as its dial and asymmetrical shape, there are some significant differences in its construction. Unlike the GWF-A1000, the MRG-BF1000R-1A features a titanium case with a screw-back and sapphire display, with a sapphire crystal press-fit into the case back engraved with the Frogman logo and other labels.
Crafted meticulously with over 70 exterior components, including an O-ring waterproof seal and special buffers, the MRG-BF1000R-1A provides outstanding Frogman water resistance and shock-resistant structure. The protective structure includes fluoro rubber buffers installed between the multiple bezel parts, which helps to absorb shocks from the front and sides while protecting the crystal.
The watch is equipped with a dedicated MR-G module featuring a gold-plated retainer plate, Bluetooth connectivity, and a titanium band with a Dura Soft fluoro rubber material for comfort and durability. The hour and minute hands overlap to form a single hand in diving mode, making it easy and intuitive to read time spent underwater. The dedicated app allows you to pair with your smartphone and easily display tide data for over 3,000 locations worldwide.
The MRG-BF1000R-1AJR will be available in Japan on April 21, 2023, while international release dates and prices are yet to be announced.
