The look of the original models is faithfully maintained while basic performance is updated to now feature Super Illuminator and a five-year battery life. Other features include hot-stamping, band loop engraving, case back engraving, button engraving, and a 40th anniversary logo that appears when the LED is activated. The bezel and band are made with bio-based resins.

The DW-6640RE-1 model draws inspiration from the DW-6600, a digital watch that was first introduced in 1994 and featured a unique graphic display with the first-ever electroluminescent (EL) backlight in a G-SHOCK. The new watch retains the original model’s round case design and front button but adds an updated Super Illuminator light. When the light is turned on, the 40th anniversary logo is displayed. Additionally, the battery life has been increased from three to five years.

The GA-2140RE-1A model takes its cues from the well-liked GA-2100 line, which has become a new favorite among G-SHOCK fans since its launch in 2019. This new watch has a sleek, minimalist design that harkens back to the very first G-SHOCK and includes special design elements to celebrate the 40th anniversary. Both the bezel and band are made from bio-based resins.
GA-2140RE-1A
The GA-114RE-1A model is a special reimagining of the popular GA-110 line, which was first released in 2010 and is known for its large case size and intricately designed dial components. This model includes several special features to mark the anniversary, including hot-stamping on the band to commemorate historic G-SHOCK milestones, engraved stars on the band loop, an engraved anniversary logo on the case back, and an additional star at the 8 o’clock index.

All four models feature a band design that marks the historical evolution of G-SHOCK. Milestones marked by the G-SHOCK brand in its historical evolution since the very first model hit the scene in 1983 are expressed in the band design. Inspired by stone monuments that stand the test of time, iconic models from G-SHOCK history are imprinted in the band along with their launch years using a hot-stamping process that impresses lettering into the band with a textural indented effect.
