The MRG-B5000 is adding a new colourway to the series, as inspired by the "blue ink" used in ink paintings and calligraphy, the band pins and bezel parts on the MRG-B5000BA-1 are coated with blue IP based on black coated with diamond-like carbon. The dial face has a blue "vapour" like deposition that matches perfectly with the brick pattern that is the identity of the origin "square face" DW-5000C.

The case and bezel of MRG-B5000BA-1DR are made of high-hardness Ti64 titanium alloy. The band is made of DAT55G titanium alloy, which is approximately three times harder than pure titanium and provides excellent workability. Function-wise, the MRGB5000 also features a special-purpose MR-G module with gold-plated circuit retainer plates to reduce electrical resistance and also features time signal reception and Bluetooth® communication capabilities for smartphone connectivity.
